NOTICE TO PROCEED Sometime in the next 90 days, your Autodesk rep is going to pitch you AI agents. This is the 4–5-minute brief you read before that call. Not the keynote version: the version with the catches left in. TL;DR (4–5-min read) * Autodesk previewed
Autodesk's $3.6B MaintainX deal signals engineering firms are becoming tech-enabled professional services firms. What it means, plus the 40-45% pay premium.
Six months of evidence on the question every infrastructure PM is half-asking: are we watching engineering software disappear into AI agents? Short read: not disappearing. Becoming a piece. The accountability moat says why.
